CHAP & GRAHAM JAM Rules and Regulations

The entire tournament will be played in accordance with the laws of the game as issued by USA Youth Lacrosse, unless modified herein. 

1. Number of Players and field size

Boys:

  • U8 will play 6 v 6 with no goalie and 4’ goals. No long poles are allowed.

  • U10 will play 7 v 7 with 6’ goals

  • U10 will play 7 v 7 with 6’ goals

  • U14 will play 10 v 10 with 6’ goals

Girls:

  • U8 will play 6 v 6 with no goalie and 4’ goals. No long poles are allowed.

  • U10 will play 8 v 8 with 6’ goals

  • U10 will play 12 v 12 with 6’ goals

  • U14 will play 12 v 12 with 6’ goals

2. Jamboree Waiver Forms

                 a. Waiver forms must be submitted prior to the first game

3. Field

a. Each team's players, coaches, managers, as listed on the team roster, will take positions on the same side of the field, but will be separated by the halfway line.

b. All spectators will take positions on the opposite side of the field and no closer than 2 yards from the touch lines.

c. No one is permitted on the field without the referee's permission. Anyone violating this rule is subject to disciplinary action by the referee and/or the Tournament director.

 d. No one will be permitted behind either goal or goal area during the game.

4. Games and Duration

  • Four (4) games, round robin format 

  • U8 does not have off-sides rulings

  • No one (1) handed checking allowed

  • Each player is allied no more than three (3) personal fouls or 5 minutes accumulated

  • Games will run for 25 minutes

  • There will be a 5 minute break between games on each field

  • There will be no time for warm-ups on the field prior to the beginning of the game.

  • The Tournament Director reserves the right to change the duration or the location of any game.

 

5. Sportsmanship Awards

  • Sportsmanship Awards will be awarded after each game.

  • Each coach will receive four (4) sportsmanship awards at the beginning of the tournament. After each game the team will decide which player on the opposing team demonstrated the best sportsmanship during that game and present the award. 

6. Coach and Fan Behavior 

  • It is understood that coaches and parents become excited during games and find fault with referees, etc. There is a limit beyond which this kind of behavior becomes inappropriate. Please keep in mind that coaches are role models for their players.

  • Parents that exhibit behavior objectionable to others will be asked to leave the Tournament by the Tournament Director.

7. Tournament Director

a. The Tournament Director reserves the right to decide on all matters relative to the CYL Chap and Graham Jam and his /her decisions are final.

8. Inclement Weather

a. Regardless of conditions, coaches and teams must appear on the field and be ready to play as scheduled. Failure to appear will result in a forfeit. Only the Referee Coordinator and Tournament Director can cancel, postpone or reschedule a game.

b. The Colchester Youth Lacrosse will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any team or club if the tournament is canceled in whole or part.

9. Tournament Cancellation

  1. Cancellations due to COVID will not be refunded

  2. Cancellation of the Tournament due to situations beyond our control will be made by the Tournament Committee as far in advance as is possible and team representatives will be notified immediately.

  3. The Tournament cannot guarantee the full number of games scheduled if a team withdraws within 48 hours of the Tournament.

10. Miscellaneous

a. No grills are allowed at the fields.
